This highly detailed instruction manual is for the 'Turtledoves' program serving Children with Special Needs, and is helpful for beginner or experienced teachers. This manual brings together years of personal experience as well as wisdom from many different sources. Along with each lesson, the author is there to guide you through every step of the journey from Genesis to Revelation. The lesson resources can be hand picked and adapted to your group, which will require some preparation. However, the simplicity of the lessons themselves makes it easy for everyone to enjoy. Each unit has activities designed to enhance spiritual, intellectual and emotional growth. The program explains ways to adapt lessons as the child's capabilities progress over time. Each unit centres around a Bible story and has resources for making a class story book, visual aids, games, activity sheets etc. The lessons also provide opportunity for singing, play acting, puppets and other activities to enhance skill development in children without disability as well as those with special needs.
This is a perpetual 2 year teaching program, that works through the Bible. It takes a holistic approach to teaching the child (or adult) with disabilities in cognition, development and processing.
